Important Information for Beneficiaries Residing in Germany

German customs has recently started to limit certain items, including prescription medications. If you're a beneficiary residing in Germany, these recent changes may impact you in the following ways:

• German officials could seize your home delivery prescriptions.
• The US Postal Service may stop allowing prescriptions into the FPO/APO system.
• You may need to consider a different method for receiving your maintenance medications.

What Should You Do?
TRICARE is reviewing options to adapt to German restrictions. In the meantime:

• Fill your prescriptions at the nearest Military Treatment Facility at no cost to you.
• Choose a local host nation pharmacy for your prescriptions.
  • Active duty service members (including activated Guard/Reserve members) pay nothing for covered prescriptions. In some cases, service members may have to pay up front and file a claim for a full reimbursement.
  • All other beneficiaries will get a partial refund.
