Since 2009, Express Scripts has presented the Ignite Symposium, the convergence of the behavioral sciences and healthcare.

This annual event brings together various "leading lights" — key decision makers and innovators in employee benefit design, HR executives from the nation's leading employers and top academics — for a stimulating discussion that yields practical solutions to common challenges.

This year, the 4th Annual Ignite Symposium was a featured workshop at the National Conference on Health, Productivity and Human Capital, organized by the National Business Group on Health. The workshop, Healthier Outcomes by Design: Clearing the Path to Better Health Decisions, focused on the link between program design and desired behavioral outcomes. We explored how to take the most relevant design principles and the latest insights from the behavioral sciences and apply them directly to the most pressing healthcare challenges.
