Important Change for Beneficiaries Enrolled in Automatic Refills

Thousands of TRICARE® beneficiaries enjoy the convenience of the Automatic Refill Program on maintenance medications enrolled in TRICARE Pharmacy Home Delivery. With Automatic Refills, you don't have to worry about running out of medication or remember to refill a prescription. Your prescriptions are automatically refilled for you and delivered right to your home.

Important Change to Automatic Refills Starting September 1, 2017

Starting September 1, 2017, upon renewal of your maintenance medication, the Automatic Refill Program will require consent from you to continue in the program. The changes will be phased-in through December 1, 2017.

For each prescription enrolled in Automatic Refills, you will need to take action. Your prescription will no longer be re-enrolled in Automatic Refills unless we hear back from you.

What Will Happen

Upon the last remaining fill of a prescription enrolled in Automatic Refills, Express Scripts will contact affected beneficiaries with either an email or an automated phone call to offer the following:

  • Would you like Express Scripts to reach out to the provider and obtain a new prescription?
  • Do you want to keep the prescription enrolled in Automatic Refills?

What You'll Need to Do After September 1, 2017

You'll need to respond and let us know what to do about your medication. Affected beneficiaries will have several ways to respond:

  • Sign in to your account at Express-Scripts.com/TRICARE
  • Via a phone call from Express Scripts
  • By calling an Express Scripts Patient Care Advocate at 877.363.1303

Express Scripts does not receive a response from you within ten (10) days, we will disenroll the prescription from Automatic Refills and will send you an email advising you that this action was taken. We will not take any action on your behalf without expressed consent. Beneficiaries can re-enroll eligible prescriptions into Automatic Refills at any time.

The Automatic Refills program offers many benefits for beneficiaries taking regular maintenance medications—including making sure you have enough medication on hand when you need it, and the convenience of receiving up to a 90-day supply of your medication right to your home.
