Accessibility at Express Scripts

We help everyone seek better health.

About one in four Americans has vision, hearing, cognitive, or physical disabilities that can make mobile apps and web sites out of reach, prescription labels unreadable, and customer service lines unhelpful if they are not built to meet the needs of everyone.

We strive to overcome those obstacles.

“Our company exists to improve the health of each and every one of our members. For us, accessibility is about equality and embracing the diversity of our members.”

- Jamie Revelle, Accessibility Lead, Experience Research & Accessibility

Here are just a few ways we are champions for accessibility:

Accessible Prescription Bottles

We offer large-type, braille and even "talking" labels for our visually impaired members. We also have bottles with easy-to-open lids.

Learn more about how to request accessible bottles.

Employee Training

All of our customer support employees are given accessibility training to better help members of all abilities.

Text Telephone (TTY)

Our phone operations use TTY text phone service (800-876-1089) to better communicate with people with hearing impairments.

Website and Mobile App Usability

Our guidelines ensure our experiences and communications are designed for all members. The Express Scripts mobile app can be used with screen readers including VoiceOver and TalkBack.

How we'll keep opening doors for everyone:

As we update our website, we follow the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These are the most widely accepted standards and tell designers and developers how to boost accessibility. We aim to develop our websites to conform to the industry standard level AA.

We continually test our apps and web services with volunteers of all backgrounds and all abilities. When we find a barrier to some, we fix it for all.

We still have work to do. We won't stop until we transform the member experience for people of all abilities.
