30-day networks
A 30-day network is a great addition to any network strategy. By making a small change to the pharmacies in your network, you can continue offering members access to any pharmacy they prefer while realizing significant savings for your plan. An Express Scripts 30-day network offers:
- A selection of up to 64,000 pharmacies nationwide
- A variety of retailer options, including major chains and independent pharmacies
- Savings of up to $13 PMPY
The Advantage network
Your members can get 30-day, acute prescriptions from a preferred pharmacy for a lower copay, or choose a non-preferred pharmacy for a slightly higher copay. The Advantage network offers significant pharmacy discounts while maintaining access to our broadest retail network.
The National network
Our National network includes a broad array of pharmacy options, including major and regional chains, grocery stores and many independent pharmacies. The National network offers significant savings by providing access to one major chain, either CVS or Walgreens, in addition to all other pharmacy locations.
Additional network options
We’ll work closely with you to determine your best network strategy. Other networks are available based on your population size, geographic area, financial and clinical goals, and medication fills or utilization patterns. We’ll customize a plan to fulfill both your and your members’ needs.
Member Choice Network Design Solution
Our newest offer allows plans to set up a comprehensive network bundle, pairing a robust 30-day network with your choice of 90-day network to meet your members’ needs. Member Choice decreases per prescription costs while increasing member satisfaction and lowering member disruption.
90-day networks

Monthly trips to the pharmacy can be an inconvenience for patients, or their caregivers. We believe there’s a better way. By giving patients convenient options of where to fill their 90-day prescriptions, we’re enabling them to make better decisions.
There’s a health bonus, too. Patients who fill 90-day prescriptions are more likely to take their medicine as prescribed. In fact, they’re 19% more adherent on average compared with people who use 30-day fills. That tends to help them be healthier, need less medical care and save money for themselves and their plans.

The Express Scripts Smart90 program offers even more convenience through national retail chains and local pharmacies, with options that don’t require a benefit change and perfectly align your 30-day network with your 90-day network. With the addition of our Smart90 Anywhere option, we now offer an even wider variety of anchor choices that can be integrated into any of the configurations below. As always, members have the option to have a 90-day supply delivered right to their door from Express Scripts® Pharmacy, where patients are supported by our condition-specific Therapeutic Resource Centers® that are staffed by specialized pharmacists and other clinicians.
