Advanced Opioid Management
Our nationally recognized Advanced Opioid Management program gives employers new tools to help prevent abuse and guide workforce members in need through a successful recovery.
- 97% of short acting opioid patients prescribed an opioid for the first time exceeding a 7-day supply were successfully reduced to a 7-day supply or less
- 85% of patients prescribed a long-acting opioid as initial therapy were redirected to safer, short acting opioids
- 12K member education letters mailed, with 2,308 disposal bags to safely discard excess opioids

It truly is a pleasure partnering with the IBAC agencies and UNM to deliver quality service for their membership. I have been a part of your Express Scripts account team for eight years. It’s been rewarding to grow into a relationship of trust and appreciation where each agency knows that I will deliver on my promises. It’s a two-way street and I feel we have successfully found a rhythm that supports how well we work together.
I am honored to support my fellow New Mexicans, helping them find best-in-class pharmacy services. I am passionate about the clinical services, solutions and member care we bring to New Mexico. We have tackled many challenges together over the years, and we continue to have some of the highest generic fill rates in the industry while providing a broad formulary. We have kept New Mexicans safe throughout the opioid epidemic, and we have strong partnerships with IBAC/UNM’s health partners including Presbyterian, Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico and others. These relationships help us circumvent healthcare silos, and our work has allowed New Mexicans to reduce adverse health events, improve overall safety and reduce omission of care. And I am proud of our work together throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. I value the relationships with IBAC/UNM leaders, and look forward to continue tackling the unique and growing healthcare challenges together in the years to come.
I began working with the IBAC and UNM shortly after the Covid-19 pandemic began. Given the travel constraints and the inability to meet face to face, it would have normally been very difficult to forge such strong relationships with leaders and stakeholders of each agency in such a short amount of time. However, each and every one of you have made noticeable efforts to get to know me and develop a relationship stronger than that of a typical vendor/client relationship. I have had the pleasure of working with the IBAC and UNM since 2010. Over the last 10 years, I have built wonderful relationships with you, bonded with your vendors, met your members and traveled to amazing parts of New Mexico. I now often refer to New Mexico as my second home, not only because I have spent so much time in New Mexico over the years, but because of the sense of family and community I have felt from the people of New Mexico.
