Sterling Pharmaceuticals initiated a recall of LubriFresh™ P.M. Nighttime Ointment (mineral oil 15%, white petrolatum 83%) due to certain FDA-observed current manufacturing deficiencies that may affect sterility. Although no confirmed sterility failures or evidence of microbial contamination have been identified in the affected lot, using ophthalmic products with sterility that cannot be fully assured may pose a risk of ocular infection. LubriFresh P.M. Nighttime Ointment is an over-the-counter ophthalmic lubricant indicated for temporary relief of eye dryness and irritation and for protection against further irritation.
